Estelle Danvers
Choreographer and Artistic Director

A multifaceted artist, Estelle Danvers, dancer and choreographer, achieved great success in July 2021 with her latest creation Un Requiem de Mozart for six dancers and the Adélys string quartet at the Les Escales Brivadoises Festival. Since then, she has reprised this show with great success.

A solidarity artist, she also gives master classes in Benin for young African dancers, whom she supports in their choreographic journeys.
2021, Estelle begins a new creation La Reine Transparente for six dancers, a lyrical singer and a cellist.

Estelle designs her own choreographic creations but enjoys working on varied shows, always with her own instinctive, fluid and musical choreographic language, from opera to musical theatre in all its diversity.

At the Opéra Grand Avignon, in December 2021, Estelle reunited with Jean-François Vinciguerra - with whom she collaborated for the creation of a show Passe ton Bach d'abord (January 2020) - and is the choreographer, assistant director for Hervé's opéra bouffe Les Chevaliers de la Table Ronde and plays the role of Fleur de Neige.

In 2020, Estelle created, with her Compagnie Estelle Danvers, founded in 2017, a program of solos and duets, for four to six dancers.

While continuing her creative work and performances, she is involved in work of transmission and exchange with children and adults, in the form of performances, master classes or courses.

In July 2019, at the request of the Aix-les-Bains Lyric Festival, she created her own version of the famous ballet La Gaité́ Parisienne, which was acclaimed by the public and an enthusiastic press.

In 2017, in the process of her own creations, she began her Patchwork project, a concept of shows composed of short pieces with very different universes but which constitute a whole.

The first performance took place at the Café́ de la Danse in Paris in June 2017, for ten dancers, with two pieces, a solo and a finale. Since then, the Patchwork project has expanded with two new pieces. Patchwork was performed at the Salle Jean Gabin in Royan in October 2017, and then several times in festivals and competitions (1st Prize at the Paris Dance Competition).

In 2013, she founded her first Compagnie Lychore. From 2013 to 2017, she collaborated with the Institut des Hauts de Seine and created an original show each year at the Orangerie du Château de Sceaux; her show dedicated to Edith Piaf was particularly noted. Appreciated for her eclecticism, she also designed the choreographies for many operas and operettas such as Les Pêcheurs de Perles, La Traviata, Aida, Turandot, Carmen, La Veuve Mereuse, La Vie Parisienne, La Belle de Cadix... She has been collaborating with the Théâtre d'Irun since 2015 in this dynamic, after having worked on Le Chanteur de Mexico in a Spanish version.

It was at the age of 6 that Estelle Danvers made her debut at the Bordeaux Opera in "Casse-Noisette" alongside Cyril Atanasoff and Noëlla Pontois, under the direction of Maitre Skouratoff, her teacher. She would never leave the stage again. She continued her studies at the Bordeaux National Conservatory, obtaining several medals in various disciplines. At the same time, she was trained by Maitre Paoli at the Bordeaux Academy of Dance, who integrated her into the Jeunes Ballets d'Aquitaine. She thus had the opportunity to work with choreographers from very different backgrounds, such as Reynald Désiré, Pascal Touzeau and Pascal Montrouge.... She then obtained her first contracts with Bordeaux companies such as those of Vincent Harisdo and Martine Periat. In 1994, she obtained her state diploma as a classical dance teacher and taught for a few years. In 1996, she won first prize in the Yzeure choreographic competition with the mention "Excellent", confirming her personal creative need. From then on, she followed this path and began a career as a guest choreographer in many theaters (notably Théâtre de l'Odéon - Opéra de Marseille) and companies in France, while remaining a sought-after performer. In 2011, in addition to being a performer, she became choreographer of the Festival Lyrique d'Aix-les-Bains, where she is invited every year.

The Estelle Danvers Company aims to give substance to the artistic projects of its choreographer.
